  • SANSA REGIONAL presents its "Direct Flight" and "Zero Emissions Airline" Programs

Fly direct

In order to serve its customers more efficiently, SANSA presents its travel program "Fly Direct." This program guarantees the passenger flights from point to point without intermediate stops, thus making his/her journey to the various destinations in Costa Rica an even faster and more convenient one.

Liberia, Tamarindo, Tambor, Quepos, Palmar Sur, Drake Bay, Puerto Jimenez, Golfito and Tortuguero are the destinations to which direct flights are available for from San Jose starting on June 7.

On-time flights

The achievement of an optimum percentage of arrived flights on time or OTP, is the result of the efficient work and the correct synchronization of the different departments of an airline; especially those of an operational nature who have direct responsibility to ensure the on-time arrival and departure of flights.

During Quarter I of 2010, SANSA REGIONAL has had a 95% OTP. That is above the overall average of the national and international airline industry.

We know our customers make their schedules around a planned agenda, both for leisure and business travels, and therefore, punctuality is a key element that determines their satisfaction when interacting with the airline.

SANSA REGIONAL: Zero Emissions Airline

SANSA is aware of the importance of forests and forest plantations in the contribution to environmental balance, especially the mitigation of emissions of greenhouse gases. That’s why it delivered 11 million colones, as part of its commitment to the program of Certificate of Environmental Services, CSA, from the National Forestry Financing Fund, FONAFIFO.

During the special event held at the Hotel Villas Gaia, in the Southern Area, and with the presence of Vice President of TACA REGIONAL, Julio Gamero; the General Manager of SANSA, Cesar Solis; Reyna Mejia C.A. Sales Manager; and Planning Manager Andrea Richardson; Members of the Board of CATUOSA; and managers of FONAFIFO; a second check was delivered. This check certifies the airline's commitment to ensure the conservation and natural regeneration of a total of 100 hectares (48 in 2009 and 62 more in 2010) of primary forest at La Conte; District: Puerto Jimenez, Canton: Golfito, Province: Puntarenas.

The agreement signed in September 2007 with FONAFIFO is valid for 5 years, at the end of which, SANSA will have invested about US$200,000 on forest conservation. During 2009, the airline’s investment was ¢8.00.000., for a total investment to date of nearly 20 million colones.

Negotiations between SANSA and FONAFIFO began in early 2007 as an effort by the airline to mitigate the negative environmental consequences of CO2 emissions generated by the air fleet.

SANSA is the leading airline in Costa Rica that has served its customers for over 30 years, covering major tourist destinations with convenient schedules, automated reservations, and experience and high maintenance standards of its Cessna Grand Caravan aircrafts.
